Wait...I thought all chamois were synthetic? Or at least they feel synthetic. Am I displaying my age here? :) The ones we have in our garage have been around for as long as I can remember.

Nope, real Chamois is cow hide IIRC. The Absorber is what I dry my car with. It's awesome, LOL. I won't ever pay for real chamois again.

That's a good question, =Jwin=. A chamois is a type of goat, technically. The use of the word has become synonomous with any type of soft leather. That's the most frequent use of the word, I think. (Sort of like a copy is a xerox, or a using the phrase "taping" to describe what happens in a sound studio.) No more taping is going on these days!

So while it may be incorrect, a chamois is a leather cloth.

I think that the synthetic stuff has picked up the name chamois somewhere along the line and it just stuck.

But to address your original question: no. Not all chamois are synthetic.

Ok thanks for the enlightenment :)

I still have the same (not so) white t shirt I use as my oil rag. It's been in my "tool" compartment since the beginning...but I'm kind of running out of white on it. I should wear it one day.

I personally like micro fiber cloths. They work great. They absorb a lot of water, and they don't scratch the paint on cars. I use them for everything though. They work especially good at cleaning windows..

He actually went in to kiss her, she bit his tongue when he shoved it in her mouth and he punched her repeatedly in the face for it. She then countered his blows with her own.
I know its a horrible story, but I found it hilarious.
