    first you say this...
    then it evolves into...
So can you explain your logic behind why you would negate the possibility of a 12" shark going after a 8" lionfish?
You dont need 20 people to make you look like an idiot...you are doing a fine job of that on your own.

the only other thing i can think of is you temperature, you should bring it down to 78 degrees to be compatible with other animals, cat shark temp is 72-78 but i really doubt its the problem

    sharky shark went bumpy bump

I fish in the bay at wrightsville beach NC for sharks on a regular basis. It's one of the big sports here. What you have discribed is somthing i see often. I'm not saying it's the answer but it's another possibility. When we put little sharks in the display tanks on the piers and marina's i've seen somthing similar. I've watched a shark hit its nose on the side of a tank, turn upside down and start twitching then fall to the bottom and start breathing fast all in about 20 minutes. The one at the pier i saw lived but i've been told a good WAP to the head can kill a shark (if that dosn't sound to obvious right, but that's what i've been told) Sharks have some kind of sensor in their nose that interacts with the nervous system. it's been a while since i studied them. I do not remember the details exactly but i know when we're surfing around here and there's a shark near by we hit them on their nose and they disapear. I've also seen a shark turn upside down and start twitching when we catch them before we get them into the boat. If we pull them in too fast and their noses ram the boat the'll turn and start twitching. Then suddenly turn and dart off. I'm not an aquarium expert but if you want an answer that dosn't pertain to being poisoned, water quality or a fat fish in a guppy box, I would put a pair of glasses on your fish or a few signs that tell him to turn around when he gets to close to his reflection.

despite your rather brash remarks...The thing that comes to mind as being the potential problem (again... very hard to help when you feel the need to withhold information about your system in order to maintain some sort of self-righteousness) would be to check the system for stray voltage from your lights, pumps, heaters, or whatever electrical hardware you have to run your tank. If you don't have a grounding probe then i suggest you get one and start feeding foods like shrimp, squid, or octopus, cut up into very small pieces and soaked in reef plus or whatever vitamin supplement you choose. Keep in mind sharks are sensitive to electrical currents so maybe something you want to look into.

I read your Say Hello thread and it said that you were setting up a 250 gallon tank, are you able to move the shark to this if say it gets better so it has more room? Maybe it has some kind of parasite? I would think you might have noticed that if it had one since you've had it for a month now though, but who knows. Hope the shark gets better.

sharks twitching is usually an electrical leak in the system, it basically shorts out their sensory system

Is that suppose to be sarcasm? You really don't think a shark would ever try to take on a fish bigger than it?

Do you not read other posts on this forum? How many times do people call their parameters perfect when they're not. We have no idea if you know what perfect is. Your question doesn't have enough info for an answer and you resist giving info. WTF?

Honestly, I can't believe your still getting responses on this thread.
