By the way - I hate clove polyps!!

A couple years ago, when I still had my 36 and was a beginner, I HAD to have them. They were so pretty, like delicate little blue snow flakes. I got a huge frag for $10 from a local reefer. Looking back, that should have been a red flag. For a while, they just sat there benignly. They survived my noob mistakes and two tank changes. In the last 6 months, they have slowly taken over. I hate them. They have my nuc greens surrounded, suffocating them. They are slowly encroaching on my maze, which I thought for sure would take them out. I can't really frag them off of the main rocks, and even if I could I could never get them all. Suggestions?

Thank you! For some of them, I had a vision of what I wanted things to look like before I bought the corals. ;D It's always nice when what I picture actually works out.

I'll look into kalc paste. I've heard of it before, but never used it myself. I wonder if that's like aiptasia x? At any rate, I'll need to get some new carbon as soon as the Bulk Reeef Supply group buy starts.

Its a paste you make from kalcwasser that you coat on encrusting corals to pretty much alk burn it away, alot of reefers use it a little at a time to help control monti's as weell as zoas and other polyps. The problem if you use alot at once is it messes with the whole thank. I do not think this will save your nuclear greens however. I have some brown zoas i need to get rid of as well as some mushrooms but I haven't heard of anyone pasting shrooms before.

In Other News: is that an orange monti cap or a red that's a little bleached. I can't thik its bleached because your purple is GORGEOUS! I think you should frag them a bit i'll pm you my address ;-)

No issues at all where they are growing together. The only issue I see coming up is them putting too much shade on the lower corals. I put some favias beneath them which prefer lower light so I'm hoping that works out in the long run. I don't like moving things around.

    Seano - Thanks!!

I am super stoked, bought an mp40 vortech last night. It's amazing! Can't believe how much water it moves! Is it bad I already want another one?

Also, I stopped by Upscales today, picked up a tail spot blenny. I've been wanting one forever, idly checking the fish stores for one for about a year and a half. I almost got 2 more purple fire fish but I also needed salt, cleaner crew, not to mention a vortech lol. The fire fish can wait.
