SharoleB's 90 gallon tank

So the bird's nest is almost completely gone. It looks like the branches that survived are now fine. They stylo popped back to normal also. I ran my tests Friday night and this is what I came up with:

SG: .0245 - on my way to bringing it back up
CA: 440
PH: 8.3
Nitrates: 0
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 0
dKH: 7

my KH is really low! Does several water changes make that better or worse?

 

Depends on the brand of salt you are using. If you want to make it go up then you are going to have to dose alk.

 

I've always used Kent salt. Does that make any difference? I've never dosed anything on my tank, never had the need before now....

 

Most dont have to if they are doing weekly water changes. I know there was a forum that someone started that had all the brands of salt and the parameters for each brand so I might have to search for it. But on another note, you do have a marvelous tank.

I'm going to look up the alk levels of kent. maybe I can just do some extra water changes...
