So I have looked on Craigslist and other online adds. I'm probably going to be moving in about a year or so. So I'm starting to get prices for the next setup in the new place. My tank is an 80 gallon and I'm thinking of going to a 120 to 150. I will probably just purchase the tank alone and make the stand. I wanna go with a black background, have a blue right now and don't really care for it too much. Definitly going glass this time, acrylic scratches way too easy! Also going rectangular shape, the bowfront is nice but too narrow for my liking, since mine is taller and slim. Going to setup the new tank at the new place let it cycle and slowly introduce my existing livestock too it. Also debating Halides and T5s :-/ I know its far away before the move but you can never start putting aside money too early ;D

Good plan, MH might require a chiller or stronger chiller than you have now. Length of the tank will cause some issues. T5HO comes in 2, 3, 4 and 5 foot lengths. There are few options in the 5 foot bulbs though.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, unless I purchase two smaller T5 units and hang them from the ceiling over the tank. Yeah the chiller might have to be upgraded, I need to check the rating for tank sizes on it. Also I'm thinking about making my own sump maybe out of a 60 gallon tank. That might save me a few bucks.

you might not need a chiller with halides if you set everything up right. I just switched from T5's to halides and will never go back. how are the 5' T5 options limited? I never noticed any lack of options in lamp choices when I had mine.
