So, a quick diversion from the tank build stuff I've been focused on this week... I'm kinda geeked about next week's BRS group buy and I was wondering what you guys think I should add to my shopping list at this stage of the build.

Here's what I currently have besides the obvious tank, sump, sand, rocks and stand:
    Skimmer
    2 Pumps
    Refractometer
    RODI
    Ammonia & Nitrite test kits
    RKL/2x PC4/1x SL1/Temp & PH probes

    The shopping list:
AquaIllumnations Sol module, controller, hanging kit & 48" mounting rail
Salifert PH and Nitrate test kit
    Hammerhead float glass cleaner
DA dual bracket float switch kit for ATO
    A powerhead- Tunze or VorTech
Eheim 1260 for return (or is a 1262 throttled down an option?)
A cheap little pump for ATO
    Hanna Phosphate Checker
A little more base rock and maybe some rubble for the fuge
I need a heater to but the ones I like aren't carried by BRS.

What would you add to the shopping list?

Is it too early to start using this type of media? I haven't even started to read up on Phosban and Biopellets yet however a good friend has had great results in his tank with the Biopellets. Thanks for your input.

I was wondering about these 2 as well. I have read some about these and most if not all of the user feedback is positive. Is it to soon- or needed yet- to run these? Thanks for the suggestion.

I just purchased one and its been running for a week, It has helped the tank out a lot. But JME. Not really anything negative yet from my view.

The Biopellets would actually probably be better off starting on a newer tank.

A sump inlet! Its a cheap and simple way to quiet down you overflow and with the easily replaceable filter socks its a great way to add some mech filtration.

didn't read old fashioned glass thermometer. nice to be able to double check the electrical stuff, which always breaks.

Good one I hadn't thought of. The only back up I have for the RKL is the thermometer that's built into my TDS meter.

What's a sump inlet? I think my sump has one built in but any thing that makes quiet has got to be good.
