Ok it's 75g with 80lbs of dry rock and 80 lbs of sand 1/2 of that live sand I have ~20g refugium that has DSB and some rock rubble for now. No water changes until the cycle is over.

Your cuc will be zero bother for the sitter.

Get some nassarius and feed them pieces of shrimp or what not... that'll keep the ammonia up to feed your biofilter.

i always just use one shrimp till its gone than add another then when i decide its time for fish i take it out 4 days before i add fish . if i put corals first i put just half a shrimp ive had good luck once i added 4 small fish and 2 corals at once and amonia and nitrite stayed at zero IMHO its a good idea to keep an amonia sorce in the tank at all times to keep dieoff to a minimum

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
That can be done with the addition of pure ammonia solution you buy at the store. No need to subject fish to elevated ammonia levels, let the tank cycle first. IMO

I think I misread something. I can't view your log. Did you say your ammonia rose and is now gone?

I agree, let the tank run it's coarse, after your past 0 am, 0 nitrite and once your nitrates drop lower than 20 ppm, start with cuc(you could feed a small pinch of flake food mabey once a week for the ditritavours to forage on),and slowly start adding a fish at a time, while keeping a close eye on parameters, the tank it's self will go through several stages of "maturing" that can be a up to a year or longer to be fully stabalized.

O.k. just got back. I would add some quality live bacteria at double the marine dose once a week until the week before Thanksgiving (so the next 3 weeks). Keep monitoring your numbers. If all looks good after Thanksgiving, add one or two fish. Using Marine-Max by Tropical Science here will help in multiple ways. It is a good product, I use it. If you get some, add it one day before you add the fish.

I would definitely continue to feed the tank ammonia until you are closer to putting fish in there. You don't want to starve off the bacteria you have already established. Once your fish are in there, their waste will be broken down to feed the bacteria.... but until then you should do it. Don't put the snails in there like I suggested before until the cycle is completly done. I can't read the log to see where you are at, so I'm just assuming by the other posts that it is not complete.

Where would I get the bacteria, is there a brand you recommend?

The cycle is not complete. Am peaked at 1 so far, then back down to .5. Going to test again when I get home.
