I know this is a random question but I bought a rubber maid and I am curious to know if it would be more beneficial to store pre-mixed salt water or processed RO / DI water?

Store RO. Make salt as needed.

Store RO/DI in a covered Rubbermaid and make the saltwater up as you need it making sure to get the temperature, salinity and pH correct before doing the water change. Use RO/DI only for your top offs as the salt does not evaporate.

I store both. I lost a very awesome fish by not having saltwater on standby when I needed it.

I always keep 12 gallons of saltwater in the basement, heated to 78°F and constant mixing using an MJ-1200. I have a 150GPD RO/DI system so it does not take long to make up a good amount of water, and so no need to store it.
