Was wondering if I should be worried about my BTA...it recently turned from pink to bright green about 3 weeks ago or so..(new light was added, and supplements too) people have told me it is just getting healthier...it recently moved to a different hole in the rock it has been on for a long time (since i got it 3-4 months ago and at least 1 year before that) its got 2 clowns hosting it...1 person told me that it was bleached and could be dying...I fed it a piece of shrimp today and it has been acting funny since...is it just digesting? To describe it, its very open in the center...and the clowns havent messed with it since...its kinda drooped a bit too..I will post pics...please let me know if I should be worried I love my anemone but i dont want this thing dying and nuking my tank with its toxins.[IMG]

What are all your water parameters including salinity and temperature? There's a template stickied at the top of the ASAP forum that has a list of general facts that might be helpful figuring out what might be going on. It looks a bit pale and transluscent to me.

And are you sure this is a BTA?
It sorta looks like a sebae (H. crispa) to me just from these pics...
Which this is normal coloring for a h. crispa

Really can only tell from the foot... but.. just in coloring.. shape/size of the body.. sort of looks like one

Definitely not a sebae, and even if it was, this is not normal coloring. Sebaes should be brown, the white you see is when they are unhealthy.
Yours does look very bleached to me. What type of lighting do you have?

My sebae was dark tan body.. with lighter tan tentacles that looked this color under actinics.. Sorry for the wrong ID..

    Edit: Found it
"Well right now I am running 2 50/50's (crappy first) lighting and 2 PC (that are for a 55g tank given to me free) and 2 LED strips (again were free). Gives enough lighting right now for what I have but I am in the savings process for some good lighting thats the right size for my tank!.... "

If its eating.. and swelling up.. then it is okay.. I would keep target feeding it like you stated you were in your other thread every few days to once a week.. to see if the bleaching changes.. and it will greatly be happy once you change lights

Ok...i think it was just trying to digest the target food or something...it responded to touch...hopefully will be back to normal by morning...do you think the 72" PC lights would be good enough..if i dont plan on growing corals and keeping just this one BTA or should i shoot for T5?...big price difference thats why i ask.

It still has color in the tentacles, neon green. This is not bleached, it has color shifted. You can see the same anemone in Joyce Wilkerson's Clownfish book. Anemones are strange animals, they will bleach over any little thing that is off. Try to drop your temp down to 78ºF or so, and they also tend to thrive in higher SG as well. I have my tank at 1.025. If you have nitrates, find out the source and try to remove them naturally, through natural filtration. Water changes don't do much for removing them.
