Theres no agreeing with him here, theres no possible way any bristle worm thats in our tanks could have done this. Unless he has a six foot killer worm in his tank then no its not possible a bristle worm could have done this.

I was agreeing with him that not all bristleworms live off detritus which quite a lot of people seemed to scoff at.
I agree it's probably not as likely as other potential causes, just wanted to make sure it's clear.

Also, having large "bristleworms" in home aquaria are not unheard of, although this particular one wasn't the type to eat fish, if it was the right species it could have, easily.

Well I am more than certain that the fish is dead because he was laying on the substrate, breathing very labored, and today he is nowhere to be found.

Oh, well, not a loss to me, only my stupid room mate who has bought no food/salt/or anything for his dumb little fish. I know it's not the fishes fault though...

They have been in the tank since the 2nd or 3rd month that the tank was up. The firefish was one of the first additions, the lobster was a little later.

Exactly my point. I shelled out hundreds, closing in on thousands of dollars for this tank, and I specifically asked my roommate if he wanted in on it or not and he said no. The fact that he then added two firefish to my tank without asking me really bugged the hell out of me.

I know that firefish are small with a small bioload, but it was just completely disrespectful for him not to ask and just throw in two fish without my consent.
