Ok! tanks been and running for about 3 months. I have some Dino and Cyano on my LR that blasts right off the rock and floats and is easy to pick out with a net. i also notice some other stuff such as sand , detritus, food, whatever else also comes off my LR when i do this. now the big concern I have is the sand. it is sugar fine and is SUPER easy to blow around, today i was cleaning my rock a little and noticed that it had completely covered my green coraline algae to the point that i did not even know it was growing there in some places.

Should i continue to blast my rocks off and be able to see this coraline algae? or should i let nature do its thing and leave the rocks alone other than removing nuisance algae?

    Thanks!

Yes, always a good idea to keep detritus from setting into rocks too much. It can cause algae issues latter, as it breaks down. Good flow should help, but sometimes it's necessary to use a turkey baster as well.

When I clean during weekly maintenance I get a turkey baster and blow off all the rocks and crevices. This allows you the junk and detritus to get sucked up by the filter or get on the sand bed and your cleanup crew to work on it.
