    Hi everyone.

So I started a 25g tank about 10 weeks ago. Around 5 weeks ago, I added my first fish, and added a few more last week.

In the tank at this point in time:

    3 hermits
    1 emerald
    1 cardinal
    1 yellow belly damsel
    2 clowns
1... other fish. hmm. Can't remember his name. (it'll come to me when I click "post".::))

I have a Hang-on filter rated for 50 gallons, a koralia 2 powerhead for circulation, and a coralife lunar aqualite. (it did an awesome job of growing algae.)

I'm in the middle of an algae bloom right now, but I think given the resources on here, I'll be able to fend it off.

This is my question: What should I plan on doing next? I'm already frustrated at how small this tank is. :-/

I found this one on craigs: 65 gal fish tank with everything

I totally want to go buy it right now, but I just can't justify it. I just wish I had started much, much bigger. The thing is - I'm already planning on adding a sump to this current tank (once I figure out exactly how that whole process works), and obviously that'll mean investing more money. I just feel like it might be better to just buy the 65g, and get it cycled and ready, then transfer my current livestock into that, and sell or give away my current set up.

I realize that a bigger tank is going to be more expensive to stock, considering LR, sand, and obviously fish. BUT, I have a friend who just got a job working for a company that offers a "great" discount from this webpage : Aquatic Eco-Systems, Inc. , so I feel like this might be the best time to switch to a bigger tank, so that I don't invest more money into this 25g, only to bite the bullet later, and switch up.

What do you guys think? I've seen some AMAZING 25-29 gallon tanks on this site alone, and I know my tank has great potential, but I just feel like I should switch up now.

Is this a common phase to be going through as a new aquarist?

Give me some insight people. ;)

by all means if you can afford it. bigger is always better with tanks. you should get a protein skimmer and get rid of that filter you have

the simple answer is YES, I personally recommend a 180 which is as wide as it is deep giving you lots of space to do your aquascaping properly :)

I sat go for the upgrade. Since June of last year I went from a 34 to a 55 to 180. No regrets. If you can swing it go for it.

Yes!! I only lasted 3 1/2 months before I bought a larger tank. Big tanks are so much fun and offer you so many more choices with stocking. It will be more expensive, but if you can afford it, do it!

Go ahead and upgrade would search for a 90 - 120 though seeing as how a 60 wont give you that much more in fish at least with a 120 you can have a tang maybe even two. I had gone from a 30 to a 40 to a 55 to now a 90 :D most were really good deal though.
