So at LFS friday and they got a powder blue in an told him to wait till monday and see if he eats. well he is eating good but his color is faded and he has the itchys. I told him to wait a few more days and he said he would hold it. They are very good to me at my LFS. So if color comes back do you think I should get it.

if you want one I'd get it , The pale blue coloration is normal its stressed related and the Itch's are normal may take it several yrs to totally stop breaking out . As for the longevity of the fish ? that all depends on your experience and abilities to keep tangs ? This is not a starters tang , But once you get it to eating then you have it about knocked with them . But the lack of color and the outbreak would not deter me from getting it if I wanted it . As with any wild caught animal its a 50/50 chance of its adapting to tank life some do and some don't so be preparied to fail all also

I saw about 5 of mine get iche within 4 weeks and die. They are beautiful but are not made for home aquariums in my opinion. Stick with Hippos.

last tang was powder brown and the ick killed it. I have since uped cleaners such as shrimp and better parameters. Water is much more stable then with first tang but still am leary. All other fish are doing fantastic wich include pink anithis and coral beuaty. Just a bit nervous i guess after last experience.

Like I mentioned water condition standards have to be high for all tangs and all spots are not Ich. Ever notice how it always seems to be tangs people call ich magnets and lose to disease the most often ?

I have a powder brown and he is my Favorite!! He gets a little bit of ich now and then but fights it right off--no one else in tank gets it--I just feed frozen soaked with Zoe and add a little Marine C to the sump daily.

I think you should go for it 10 acrewoods

they are a gorgeous species and what I would say is, if you dont purchase it? someone else will

50/50 ( quote Tangster) - those are reasonable odds for an experienced aquarists

    good luck
