Should I clean this algae off?

    Just started noticing more and more of this brown algae on the glass of my tank. Should I scrub it off with a paper towel or something? I bought on of those magfloat scrubbers but the bristles on the cleaning side seem REALLY rough, like velcro, so I havent really used it yet.. I you can see the patterns where the snail has went over I think.

    I like to keep my glass clean so yes i would clean it off... You can use that magfloat it works great, it wont scratch the glass so dont worry... Just dont get sand between the scrubber part and the glass.

    Try and teach that to a young one :(
    Thats where my glass scratches came from.

    Yup remove it!!! Be conscious of the amount of food you are feeding as that will contribute to the microalgae that is portrayed on your glass!
    Do you have a phosphate reactor? That will also help ya along with water changes once a week and optimal protein skimming!
