Should I dose before adding corals?

    Makes sense but I'm lazy and if I can automate something, I do it. Now....I do go check my bottles every couple of hours when I walk by the tank or lift the canopy when I know the pumps shouldn't be pumping just to make sure I'm not dumping a bunch of crap in there. I love the stability the pumps have brought.

    If you don't have a test kit for each and every ingredient in each of those snake oils and use them on a regular basis then don't even think about puitting that stuff in your tank. Those items are better off on the LFS shelf where they belong.

    A good salt mix will contain everything you need with regular small water changes. It is extremely easy to get a reef out of balance and a PITA to get it back. Take those bottles back to the LFS for credit.
