    Hello everyone,

I have a 55 gallons reef tank. I have the following:

Two seabae clowns, 1 bicolor dottyback, 3 damsels and 1 yellow tang. I also have crabs, snails, feather dusters and some mushroom corals. I don't have a wet/dry filter. Everyone is telling me that I should get a wet/dry. I am happy with the filters that I have: Penguin biowheel 350, canister filter (Magnum 350) , Aquaclear 110 and a skimmer (Seaclone 100).

    Shoul I get the Wet/Dry?

Welcome to 3reef. I personaly dont like canister filters so you can guess what my answer will be. If your current set up is working for you, and when I say "working for you" I mean your water paras are in check, then stay with what you have already. Luna

I am with Luna on this one. I don't like canister filters or the wet dry system. I just use a skimmer and live rock. Works great and it's simple. The more hardware like this you toss into a system the greater the room for error IMHO.

I have a 55g with only a HOB skimmer and and a Whisper filter with no media just the socks being used. For me it works just fine, I do not see a need for a wet/dry.

Werd!! I myself use power/canister filters for 10/g set-ups and lower but if it ain't broke......don't fix it, unless your looking to upgrade period. I went with a wet/dry for my 75/g a long time ago but this time when I restarted my stuff, I also added a refugium. Best of both worlds I guess::) If it were me and all my water parameters are good.....let it be! Just my $0.02
