Currently I have a MJ1200 with a SureFlow 1600 kit running in my 20 gal. The white propeller (rated at 2100 gph) was way to strong and kicked up sand no matter where I positioned it. So i put on the black propeller (rated at 1600 gph) which was a little better but still kicking up some sand.

So I was thinking about replacing the powerhead with a pair of Koralia's (one on each side of the tank). And use the MJ1200 to power the AquaC Skimmer instead of purchasing another one MJ. Which ones should I purchase: The Koralia nano (265 gph) or Koralia 1 (400 gph)?

I am using 2 nanos in a 56tall and they work great, the nice thing about the Koralia's is instead of having a small spread on the outflow like the maxi jets its a real wide flow which doesn't kick sand around to bad.

But it all depends on how much flow you want, if its allot get the #1's as the nanos are not made for allot of flow.

#1's rock for that size tank, I've had 2 nano's and they both had horrible deaths

1 only lived 2 weeks the other a few days, dunno if it was just a bad batch or not but I wont buy anything but #1's and up now

Ditto...barely adequate for my 12 nanocube.

One oversized one better then two smaller ones...IMHO...cheaper for you also...

    Get a #3 or #4

Can direct excess flow towards surface.

    You will be much happier.

I really like mine...and there are some great deals for them on Ebay...

the flow of the korlia is much more dispersed then the maxi jets. I have two maxi jet 1200 and 1 koralia #1 in my 55. I also have a maxi 1200 for my remora skimmer and it works great, so i would definitely go with that setup
