Don't go out of state if you can find a qualified, (by your standards), program in your home state. Student loans are very real once you have to start paying them back...my law school bill looks like a mortgage bill, you don't want that. Try thinking of every college cost you save as money you have earned, stay in state and you just made 20k cash easy. It isn't just tuition, it is the cost of living expenses. You will save tons living closer to home, even if it isn't in your parent's house.

Wow - law school. Impressive! Are you currently a practicing attorney? Or are sea critters your passion now?

While I was studying for the bar I started working with sea critters...a few months later, I had something better to do. Would have been nice to save those 3 years though...

Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs said it best. I'm not going to quote him, but it went something like this: there's many ways to get smart and going to college isn't necessarily the best way for everyone.

If you've got common sense and you're handy you can learn any skill on the job. However, if you're only book smart then go to school.;D

That being said, a degree shows would be employers that you A) retain information B) willing to put your head down to work hard and finish what you start.

Nah - those 3 years were a great experience, I'm sure. Plus you got to broaden your mind, which is always a good thing. And it helped you find your true passion!

    Yay for sea critters! :)
