I just lost all but one of my fish to cryptocaryon. The lone survivor is a bengai cardinal who is in quarantine. he/she appears to be free of any signs of the parasite. So my question is should i treat this fish with Cupramine, or just leave the main tank fishless for 6 weeks?

    Thanks!

Good question. I think if you want to be "more sure" that the bug is gone, put it in HT and medicate. (Never any guarantees that it's eradicated). You wouldn't want to medicate in your main tank if you have corals. Then quarantine any new fish. The crypto will die off in the display tank without fish in there.

Thanks for the advice! Upon further observation I did find a white spot on the cardinal. How long does the cupramine treatment usually take?
