75gal DT with a 40gal long sump 20gal of it setup for the fuge. 2" mud 4" sand bed in the fuge. i have plenty of room for chaeto, and tons of other macros if necessary.

im reading that copepods like live rock... should i put some in the fuge? it would just add to my overall de-nitrification abilities by having more rock in the system for bacterial growth.

what do others think about LR in a fuge?

I put a couple of small pieces in, but really that was just cause I took some out of my tank and had some extra. No real reason, and you do not want to take up space on the sand bed, or hamper flow.

I built a small pile in the corner of the fuge to give the pods an area to breed, it's not big enough to cover much of the sand bed or interfere with the flow. I also added about 10lbs under the stand my skinner sits on. the overflow from the tank gives that chamber plenty of flow. My Nitrates have droped from nearly 50ppm to 5 - 10 ppm in the month I have had the new sump/fuge setup :)

I had a 3-4 lb piece that I took a hammer to and made about 1-2" pieces. I made a pile of the rubble on one side of my fuge and the pod population exploded the following week..
