yeah but also could be a sign of stress from any source...including electricution. I just find it very very hard to believe that in that short of time, all the disolved oxygen was used out of the tank. He still had the flow from the canister plus the surface water oxygenation. Not an ideal situation, but would not wipe out a whole tank overnight! Unless you used some type of medicine in the tank!

Do you have a ground probe in your tank? Wont do a whole lot to stop stray voltage but may save your life if you stick your hand in the tank during a stray voltage.

Very likely I am wrong but I still say it was some type of voltage that killed all your fish!

i cut my return lines into the sump short on purpose. The water hits the sump splashing into the filter sock. I get some good foam inside the sock like a skimmer. Good aeration.

same here. i let it splash down alittle into my sump. plus, my ro water goes into my overflow, which to me that splashing affect seems to mix it into the sw nicely. has worked great for me.

good luck....I had a week this week where I questioned taking my reef tank down this week....still havent got it back going but I am giong to tough it out. I had a massive leak in my 135g and had about 200g dumped into my living room and basement on Wed. Have been working since just trying to get the water up. Rented a big extractor and finally today the carpet was fairly dry...VERY SMELLY....but dry. So round 1 of the commercial rug scrubber! Just finished the LR and the hallway.
    hang in there!
