I find that my tank looks so bare, so I added a few fake plants I had to the tank. Does it look ok or should I remove them? I think they look good with the live rock. Which do you like better? I know saltwater tanks don't normally look like this but it looks kind of nice to me. does't look as bare. The only coral I have is a small frag of star polyps.

In my opinion if you want it to look like a marine system, I would remove the plants.

Most importantly though, if it appeals to you than keep it the way you have it. I pretty certain in time you will seek a more natural marine look.

Your tank, you do what you like.
You might find yourself having to clean the plants a lot.

personal preferance i have to seay i like it both ways but them plants may be a pita to keep clean once coralline takes over but in a fish only system its hard to get color without going fake at some point

If you want plants, I say go the real plant/macro menthod. Manatee & Oar grass if I remember right are both taller type plants. You can get some of the grasses out there that would fit the bill. reefcleaners has some as well as most of the main online aquarium stores

My personal preference is to not have fake plants. As mentioned, there are many alternatives for macroalgae from Reef cleaners. Just make sure they're not edible by any future herbivorous fish additions. Having said that, I do like the look of your tank with fake plants.
