should i return this purple firefish?

I picked up this guy from the LFS today, I took a quick look, picked out what I thought was nice looking one, and somehow missed this spot on it's right side until I got him home... any one know what this is? I know the pictures are bad, its basically just a small white spot. The store has a 24 hour guarantee so i would have to return by tomorrow to get a full refund or exchange. Also it will be extremely difficult to catch it because of my rock arrangement, so I would prefer not to return unless its absolutely necessary

 

It could be a disease, this is why you should quarantine. Any damage is aleatory likely done. He will most likely be fine if you keep your water quality high and feed him highly nutritious food

 

agreed, for right now I would say leave him be and just watch him, more than likely he was housed with a lot of other purple fire fish and it looks like he got into a fight.

might be fish rot, that's will kill everything the tank.... JK

just to update the fish is doing awesome, very healthy, apparently it was just a loose scale or something
