As some of you might remember, I had a 110 gallon tank in Spain. Now I am moving from Brazil back to CA and want to start a 180g project.
I still have my old stuff (not the tank) which I could ship. Just check my signature which still lists my old equipment.

Considering the high shipping costs, I would love to hear your opinions on whether its worth considering.
Since my old tank was only running for 6 months I don't really have any experience with the equipment.

If I were to buy new equipment, I would go with a Vertex Skimmer, Dc pumps, phosphate and calcium reactors (not sure which brand yet), Neptune automatic feeder, Buildmyled strip lights, chiller etc. etc.

I love the Apex controller, especially now that the Fusion service will be available soon. I don't know whether the Aquatronica (again I have no experience with it) is compatible with all equipment. I know it has an online access capability but does that come close to the Fusion?
    Too many questions, huh?
Maybe I should start separate threads..

Anyhow, i am grateful for any input!
    Thanks

    1) I would try to sell there
    2) If only 6 months old I would ship it over and if not used sell it here.

Since you already plan to upgrade your lighting, skimmer, and pumps, I'd say no. Sell everything there, then replace when you're ready to start your new build. That would be the most cost-effective route, IMO.

What are shipping costs versus new purchase costs?

I say ship it. I just recently moved (I know, not out of the country) and did a tank upgrade from 55 to 220. I ended up using all my equipment from the 55 until I was able to upgrade everything (which took some time). I think you'll thank me later if you decide to ship.

    Isn't electricity in Spain 50Hz, 220V?

I tend to think equipment available there wouldn't like being plugged in here.

It's hardly used ... Do you want to buy it and ship? The chiller alone weighs 55lbs. I dunno what I'm gonna do.

Good question. I was just looking into it but cannot get a precise quote because I have to get the measurements and total weight first. But one thing is for sure... Shipping is going to be very expensive.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am not sure. I am lending more towards selling it.
