should i stir the sand?

    30 gallon 1 to 1 1/2 inch bed

    its up to you I woud sugest getting a clean up crew that does it for you but you could use a gravel vas to help during your water change but the sand bed helps with filtration and decomposses unused food and poo so it dosent need to be done very often also a goby would help with keeping the sand clean and also better water movment.

    yeah i plan on a goby maybe a yellow watchman i think its called. or a black ray goby i think its called

    oh yea he eats the sand and spits it out through his gill slits which is cool to see and when he eats he sucks up a huge mouth full of food and eats it slowly over time so its also interresting to see.

    cool. so if any leftover food sinks to the bottom hell get rid of it?

    he will help but it only a little part of the whole system and hes a cool fish :) there are some snails called narius snails i belive that help sift the sand bed.
