I just treated a sick clown fish with MELAFIX. The skimmer within minutes started to fill up with foam and water. Should I have the Skimmer off while I treat the sick fish? Is it normal? if it's normal should I keep emptying the skimmer? Please Help!!

    No instructions

I checked the bottle and their website for FAQ. All the info I have found was how to use the product and when. Nothing about the skimmer.

I always turn off the skimmer and remove carbon when I treat a tank with meds.

you should take everything out i was reading about that and it said to.the carbon and skimmer would actually basically defuse your meds.

i turned the skimmer off on my tank when i used it, but now i don't have to do that cause i finally got meself a QT tank, after i learned the hard way by introducing a fish that seemed healthy but had a nasty parasite case.
