Ill tell you right now, i wouldnt have anything in a tank that is bowing... my 150 weights a little over a ton..and my stand is made from 2x6 and 1" thick hardwood..

to me Bowing = flimsy = possible disaster = tank on floor = house flooded

i would add some braces some how, 2x6's are a beast, a couple 2x6 braces and the stand should be plenty strong..i would def fix it now than later

Agree. If you add some diagonals that should distribute the load through the vertical supports.

Tanks do not like to flex! On custom stands, that's a tough one.. I always build on bigger & stronger than what you need.. I would first as was stated before, check to see of the floor is level & shim where it is needed. I would also recommend putting a middle brace on the back & front in the sump area. What kind of wood is it? Mine is oak & a middle brace was not required, but if it's pine STOP! It must braces..

    yes its made of pine.
in hindsight, this stand could have been planned a little better.
as disappointing as it is, i guess i'll drain it and deal with when back from my holiday.
    thanks for the advice everyone.

Oh man you need the braces with pine. Like I said before in the sump area. Install one brace on the back middle section and the second brace in the front middle section where the two doors meet when closed. The braces will run from top to bottom.

I would use oak for the braces. With oak the brace won't have to be that wide perhaps 3" or so, but if its pine the braces will have to be about 5" wide.
