    +1 to vinegar. Let it sit for a day or so. The stuff should pretty much slide off with some elbow grease and perhaps a scraper. I use a plastic end scraper so I dont scratch the tank.

    I got a biocube in about the same condition as you described I ran it for a week with vinegar and water combo and it was like magic! The tank looks practically brand new! It was simple and you will like the results! Good luck!

    Great you found a suitable tank, on CL. CL is how I started my Reef.
    I even had a wet/dry stuffed full of bioballs from my original CL buy!
    I sold it cheap, without ever using it.

    Are you SURE you even WANT the BioBalls?

    Maybe someone else can chime in here on those too, but from what I read, and read,... I'd ditch them.
    Go with LR, maybe Chaeto, Protein skimmer?
