I tried to stay away from the rock wall at the back of the tank too. so I went with this type of layout. The only problem with it is it kind of limits me to the amount of space that I have for corals.

This is the layout of my tank, the lighter rocks are the taller ones, which means the darker ones are the lower rocks.

This was shortly after I set my tank up, I figure this way you could see the Scaping better.

This is what my seahorse tank looked like when I originally set it up.

I notice a lot of people seem to have their rock on the back glass but I have always heard keep it off the back glass. Is it ok to have it there?

I wanted to leave my rocks off the back glass to create room for the Tangs to swim in front and behind the rocks. I also created three "swimthroughs" with the largest in the middle, even full grown the Hippo should fit through the middle allowing a figure 8 pattern.

mine is more of a " /l " shape if you can understand that. the weight of the rock is resting on the rock underneath it. not on the glass.
mine does touch the glass in some spots but the glass is not supporting it by any means.

What are you guys using to secure the rocks? Epoxy or rods? I'm about to start aquascaping my 110 and since it's 30" I'll have some stacking to do. I was going to use epoxy but want to be able to redo it if I don't like the results.

I have a 31" tall tank and I do not have anything securing my rocks....but they are extremely secure. The rocks themselves provide the structure. Make sure the rocks are on the bottom of the tank (not on the sand. If you ever get a sandsifter, it will make the structure unsafe). I choose not to have mine resting against the back wall because I like to be able to clean the glass completely.
