    Some blennies (and the midas is one of them) will dramatically alter their color when they feel threatened. If they feel really threatened they will turn all blotchy. I got mine about a month ago and he/she is only now looking yellow. Additionally, the color of the lights will dramatically alter how fish look. When my actinics are on my midas looks very mundane. When the halides come on: yellow and blue/purple/pink. Looks like a different fish.

    Don't mean to hijack this thread but MYSTERY SOLVED for me!!! I could never figure out what type of Blenny mine was but now, thanks to you, i know! BLUE and GOLD!!!
    I am a little concerned about the "Acro polyp nipping" since i am currently stocking my tank with Acro frags but i guess i'll keep an eye on him.:-/
