Hey y'all. I've been playing with the 135 cleaning and getting it ready and inventoried what parts I have and notice it's got 4 standpipes. Two have kinda like caps on them and the other two are slotted. why? should I use these or make new? and what is the correct way to set them up, I'm sure I have the strainer wrong on one of them. I'm missing some parts too...

here's a few pics of them....

If i were you Linda i'd replace all the bulk heads and stand pipes any way.. that tank's been sitting any way for who knows how long where ya found it.
and those stand pipes look old and any parts missing , you might not be able to find replacements because their so old any way.( imo )

Best to do it now , theres NO water,sand,livestock.... easier now than later....

Thats an old school standpipes. One is for surface skimming and the other is under the surface skimming. I agree with wildreef. Luna

After seeing those pics f the stand pipes, thats got me thinking... Have you water tested this yet to see if its going to hold water? I know you bought it from somebody who had it in storage. That type of stand pipe was like 20 yrs ago, and tanks have about a 15-20 yr lifespan on the silicone.

ok back from the mtns. no I haven't put waterin it yet, Geek. I'm waiting on the newbulkheads. The silicone in the corners looks brand new. The glass doesn't have a single scratch on it. I think if the tank was use, it was only for a few weeks. The new bulkheads will be in this week. I was making that a plan for next weekend.
