I have both a cleaner shrimp and a coral banded shrimp in my tank and they have their own seperate places to hang out and don't bother each other.

Scarlett's tend to be a lot more peaceful of the shrimp. The one that is an ass is the Coral Banded Shrimp. I highly doubt your scarlett will pick on your peppermints. ;D

I have cleaner, fire and peppermint shrimp in my 75gal reef and they get along fine. The peppermint shrimp are very good at keeping the aptasia population down(small ones). Also can use Joe's juce, Kalkwasser paste, vinegar and hot water to kill aptasia anemones!!!

Speaking of coral banded shrimp I just bought one yesterday and I am planning on putting him in my tank today. My only dilemna is how he will fare with the wrasse (Christmas wrasse). I did some reading on previous threads and the opinions of the forum members seem to be evenly split in terms of compatability. If size of the animal(s) plays any significant role I would say the shrimp is bigger than the wrasse by 50%, and I am kind of hoping that the agressiveness of the shrimp combined with his bigger size would keep the wrasse in check.

    Opinions ??

    Thanks in advance.

I dont think its a good idea putting the shrimp and the wrasse together, my lionfish used to try to eat a coral banded shrimp that was much to big to fit into its mouth until one day I saw the shrimp hanging out its mouth :(.

If you have a reef tank you don't want a boxer crab or boxer shrimp. I believe they are aggressive! Keep with Lysmata shrimp species. Crabs are not to be trusted. However, that being said, I have a Sally Lightfoot and a Green Mithrax crab and they are fine in my reef tank. Just watch them carefully.
