Why not try another Fire shrimp? Do some research on pairing them. They are without doubt my favorite shrimp type. Mine used to come out of hiding when I would open the door coming home from work. He would sit there and sway back and forth, begging. I swear he would move to a position in the tank to watch me.

Weird.. I have a blood and two skunks. Probably a pistol in there somewhere too. haven't seen him in weeks though.. But i have a big tank. I never realized they would fight. So far no problems for me.

It's that "survival of the fittest" phenomenon. Given enough space and food, nobody cares, but in tight quarters they will try to eliminate competition. I'm not 100% certain the OP could even add a second blood shrimp at this point; the original may not be concerned with mating. I have heard of skunk cleaners cannibalizing in smaller tanks...
