I'm curious. I have a 29 gallon nano cube reef tank, and it has a coral banded shrimp in it that i am thinking of moving to my 45 gallon all fish tank. However, my 45 has a marine beta in it. Will the beta eat the shrimp? I wasn't sure considering the beta is a breed of grouper, but I think the shrimp will do much better in the 45.

i think the betta will try to eat it, but if it will get past the pinching of the shrimp i dont know, it may just say its not worth it(figuratively as fish dont talk).

    Hello,
What other fish do you have in the 45? The beta will likely attempt to eat it. They will also eat any small invert/fish that will fit in their mouth. I have seen tangs and angels rip coral banded shrimp to pieces, and then consume them... It was sad for the shrimp, but interesting. :)

I have a Betta with my peppermint shrimp and camel shrimp and he has yet to eat them. Although being as they are in the grouper family you just never know.
I have a Coral Banded in my 30 and think he fits in perfectly so I see no reason why you would need to move him from you 29.
