Well I have a pair of fireshrimp, one of the fireshrimp, the lighter color one, has had eggs under her belly 4 times now. She releases them and about 2 weeks later has more. She gets so fat. Any idea if any will make it, if they are fertile. Also have ONE cleaner shrimp, it has also had eggs, they are bright greenish, same spot as the fire shrimp. Do they also have false breeding or are they asexual?! The cleaner seems to fan its underside and sometimes grab some of the eggs. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this?!

I've seen my cleaner shrimp play with the eggs. Even if eggs do hatch, the babies would have to survive the onslaught of fish and other things eating them, filtration, and they would have to find food. Any surviving would be a miracle.

Yeah, I don't know of anyone who has bred them successfully yet.

Wasn't really to concerned with breeding them, since we weren't expecting them or anything. Just thought it was kinda cool, and guessing that it was a good sign that my water was looking good.

what do you need in order to keep inverts? i've heard that calcium drops are needed because inverts such as shrimp, hermit crabs, and snails may mold...

I think you mean molt. Snails do not molt. Anything with an exoskeleton will though. They have to shed their shell in order to grow larger. Molting is natural and a good sign for shrimps and crabs.

Both of my peppermint shrimp and my skunk cleaner have molted and were fine. I do not do calcium drips or anything. Definitely do not do iodine drips for shrimps. It won't help them molt it will force them to molt and they will likely die from it.
