someone needs to tell me if I should remove the rest of the shrimp or not. I am worried something is going wrong.
Maybe it really was just too darn big?
If I stretched it out it was literally 5" long and about 1.5" thick.

The stinky water has gone away since I removed most of it this morning. I actually put my nose to the water and dont smell much at all.
Maybe it was just too much all at once for the bacteria to handle?
Should I see the water clear up soon?

it probably was too much for the bacteria since there wouldnt be abundance of it right now. and yes thwe water should start to slowly uncloud.

I used squid tentacles, about 5 of them on a medium large squid, water never got cloudy, it was fairly stinky for a few weeks though. Just keep testing your water every 3-4 days. You should see the ammonia rise then the nitrite, and finially the nitrate. Once the nitrates reduces to 20 ppm and your ammonia and nitrite are undectable you can start adding your clean up crew. Mine took about 8 weeks. Good luck!

IMO, you should leave it off for now. wait until youve fully cycled. theres nothing you need to remove from the water column yet.

When can I pull that darn shrimp out of the tank?

I would not use the food or dead fish method with out live rock in the tank you are just asking for a algae bloom if any light is on the tank.

Well I didnt have LR in it for a week with the shrimp rotting. But now I just added a few lbs.
What should I do? Im thinking of just pulling it out and going for a couple Damsels at this point. This shrimp method doesnt seem very accurate.
