I would pull it out. The live rock will have die off on it and start the cycle by itself and enough bacteria to complete it rather rapidly.

When my crazy milky water clears completely does that mean everything has finally caught up and the cycle is complete?

no you need to be testing for ammonia, nitrite when that is gone it means the cycle is complete.

you should also be watching nitrate as if that gets to high its not good for your live stock either.

I don't know what you want to do with the tank but after the cycle is complete its is safe to add your first fish. I wouldn't add any corals for a couple weeks but depending on what you add they would probably be ok.

Hey guys, my ammonia is still at 1.0
It was sky high for over a week while that giant shrimp rotted.
Its been there for a few days. I have no shrimp in the tank anymore and I only have a few lbs of LR.
Will my cycle still complete or is there something off now? I have 5mg nitrates also.

    The water has cleared too.

what are your nitrites reading? and your amonia needs to be at 0 then nitrites will have to read 0 after you get that reading you are "done". as stated above, and to reiterate you want to test for nitrates as a high level of nitrates will kill your inhabitants

I didnt test for nitrites yet. I figured if the ammonia is that high then there is no need to yet. True?
