Definately too big for your tank..... Just take the advice please
    NO FISH IN THAT TANK
    GET A BIGGER TANK
OR ONLY KEEP CORAL...THAT WILL STILL BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND EXPENSIVE

I understand that you're trying to convice this person not to put a fish in a tank that small, and I do agree, especially for a beginner. But your logic about how a 6 gallon with coral will cost more than a 20 gallon with coral makes no sense. I have a 5 gallon and never dose anything, and I am showing growth ( a good amount IMO). I also have a clown goby and shrimp. Sure it is hard to keep it stable in the long run, but more expensive? I think not.

Not to mention we should be incouraging new hobbyists with ideas or other options rather than just saying No, But with the other previous posts, I do agree with the fact that a tank that small would be very difficult with someone your age. The chemistry can swing more rapidly and can crash quite quick if the slightest thing is done wrong. Why don't you ask your parents if you can get a 30g tank, they are extremely cheap to run, and if you can talk them into a Biocube thats even better because they are quite stylish. A 30g tank if you buy a 200g rated bucket of salt around $70 will last you if you do a 10% water change every other week would last about 2.8 yrs give or take, thats pretty cheap. also taking into account the amount of fish you could have in a 30g vs a 6g. You could even have that peacock mantis shrimp in a 30g if you wanted.

I agree 100%, if a bigger tank is completely not an option then you should set up the 6 gallon....With no fish/ inverts/ corals and practice keeping water parameters stable. That is the key to keeping a healthy tank. For about 6 months I had nothing in my tank. I just did my water changes and kept up on other maintence till I felt I was ready.

I might have found a solution...Well I believe someone already mentioned it, but I thought I would bring it up again.... They will still be hard to care for in your tank, but you seem to insist on haveing a moving organism in your tank. How do you like these?

IMO they are very pretty, and I hear they are fun to watch...
