Its the claws (dont know the correct term) that i cant seem to nail. They seem strange static hooks, no clip like action... If you know what i mean

Those are its fighting/walking legs.Males will fight to the death if placed together. While it does look a lot like a Saron it lacks the fuzzy appendages that are usually attributed to that species. It is quite possible its an unidentified species. There are lots of shrimp!!I will show the pics to a few of my shrimp experts to help I.D. it.;) Please observe its habits and post them.It helps to know if they are nocturnal.
I am a bit surprised your Toby hasn't attacked it.

Thx vinny, he seems nocturnal and very shy. Not sure if it helps but during the transfer he was almost transparent from the stress? Toby hasnt had a shot at him yet i guess but he wont last long if wonders during the day i fear, keep in mind its getting to the period where i have to clip back his teeth so he doesnt have a huge mouth yet

Try some clams in the shell.Save you the trouble of clipping them.Thats the other problem with I.D.ing them. Most can change color depending on mood or time of day/night.A fresh molt will help as well.;)
A couple more pics that show its swimming legs will help.Do you see any fuzzy appendages at all??

Easy sauron ID. One a few of the species are coral eaters, by the way.
