Have quite frequently over time noticed fresh moulted shrimp exoskeletons in large BTA.

Been wondering for a while how they got there, and if anem could really digest them.

Answer to latter is that yes, the moult eventually disappears.

Answer to former, last night saw Mrs. Maroon taking fresh "skin" found somewhere in tank and depositing in BTA.

Never thought those skeletons had much food value and always thought they just kind of dissolved away if I did not pull from tank when possible.

    I was wrong. :-/

How interesting, thanks for the inf! I would guess that they would have a high calcium content, what do you think?

Even if the anenome did not eat, your crabs and some of fish love the molted skin.

    that is good info. ty

I'm just happy my maroon is starting to host.

had the clown for over a year w/ 3 different anemones and finally i think he;s taking to this one, maybe he'll get rid of my shrimp exo's the same way, cause mine usually just drift around for a few days until they mysteriously dissappear.
