I just picked up a peppermint shrimp from my LFS this afternoon and it has already molted it's shell. Now I realize that shrimp normally shed their shell, but should I have any concern if he did it within 8 hours of being in his new home?

Stress can induce this. It will also hide for the next few days while its new shell hardens up. Id say its normal though.

All the shrimp I have and Had over the last 3 years would molt after being put into the tank and also after water changes. Was just a normal thing they did. But they do have problems with molting if calcium is low.
