shrimp shell or shrimp dead?

Hi just a quicky, got up this morning to find what i think is the dead remains off one off my peppermint shrimp stuck to the filter intake pipe. Now was a little confused as it just looked like a empty shell so i thought maybe it had shed its shell but then the shell has its wiskers on it and so shorly they dont loss them to when they get a new shell? so has he passed on or has he got a new shell? any ideas would really help me out!

P.S check all water para and are all spot on, this was the first thing i did this morning after finding the remains

 

Yup.....sounds like it molted. Wiskers and all. My coral banded shrimp molts and leaves a good looking exo-skeleton every three weeks or so.

 

..........and the wiskers are a natural part of the molt.

 

OH thats very good then, i didnt relise they lost there wiskers! Me and my husband were convinced he has pass on and on my birthday too!

Cool.....and don't worry about getting the molt out of the tank if you cannot reach it with ease. I just let my cleanup crew have a nice little meal.
