About 4 days ago i added a malu anenome, every morning when lights are off i have noticed the anenome shrunken to a very small size, i thought this was due to it expelling water, but have read they don't do this everyday, so i watched my tank for a while and seems i have solved the problem, my cleaner shrimp is jumping on it whenever it opens up, i know this will stress out the anenome and due to only haveing it a few days i want to be able to give it the best start, what is the best thing to do if anything besides take out the shrimp, i'm annoyed with him grrrrrrrr:angry:

I had the very same issue with a Skunk Cleaner Shrimp when I first introduced my Condy Anemone. However, the Condy stood his ground, and about a week later, the shrimp became his dinner. A couple weeks later I replaced the cleaner shrimp with a Banded Coral Shrimp- Stupid went straight for the anemone, and was eaten the first night!

If your Malu is showing signs of stress, I'd highly recommend placing the shrimp in a fuge for a few weeks to allow the anemone to adjust. However, he, too, may become dinner if/when you put him back into the DT.

    Cheers, and Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply, he only does it when lights go out which causes the anenome to close up, it will stay in this state until the lights come on as if to say well no need to open up yet anyway its dark, other then closeing upto a small diflated mess, what other signs for stress should i watch out for?

Perhaps I misunderstood the level of aggression from your shrimp due to my own experience- it occurred during the day, especially at feeding time.

If the shrimp isn't persistently attacking the anemone, and the anemone is opening when the lights come on, then you should be fine. Just keep a close eye on the activity to make sure the shrimp doesn't become any more aggressive.
