shrooms taking over

its one piece of LR that started as beautiful orange button polyps and one green mushroom now barely any polyps and 4 really big shrooms now under the mushrooms are still polyps i wanna save both how do i do it do i just cut the shrooms?

 

ya, just agitate them so they close and try to scrape the base off the rock. you can cut them off but the chance of loss is greater. get a small dish, put some rubble in it , toss the cut/scraped shrooms in the dish and cover with fishnet or veil material. place in a low flow zone and Voila! you now have frags. frags can be mailed to 906 Argyle, Verdun Quebec Canada, H4H1V1.

Yeah, just go crazy with the scissors. Every little bit left behind will become another mushroom. If you cut them into 1000 tiny pieces, you'll end up with 1000 mushrooms...they're very hardy.

If you want to get rid of some, instead of killing them let me know, I only live in Ft Lauderdale andd wouldnt mine taking a few of those off of your hands

 

I just invite local reefers over from time to time to help themselves to shrooms, colts, Xenia,...things that grow like weeds in our systems...sounds like you have lots of interested prospects ! No worries, great item to learn how to frag, as benbabcock stated.

Those guys are a PITA they will rub up against and kill all your other corals. I have been trying to trim them out as well but they are a hard one to get rid of

 

mix one spoon of kalkwasser into some water to barley thick and place one small drop into the mouth the shroom he will deflate he will not die from one drop, then cut the rock with a dremil just under the shroom, now just place him where you want him this is easier for me than fragging.

 

Man would that be a nice prob. to have.

 

Shrooms will do this, mine are super bright purprle so I dont mind. I agree with the suggestion that to aggitate them. Actually pull the rock out of the water so they shrivle up and you might need to scrub that section to get the entire thing off. Bc if you do anything underwater you will have a million of them
