Shy Clownfish (Male from mated pair)

Hey everyone,

I have been noticing that my male clownfish is a lot more shy than the female. He is still eating, but not as much as I would like him to. Usuallly during feeding them the female eats most of the food that comes near them both and he gets the ones that she randomly misses... they are getting a little older (5+ years) and he doesnt seem overly skinny... but he is definately not fat. I am mad because i just bought some formula 1 frozen food... and to my amazement it is basically mushed up frozen formula 1 flakes... ugh... off to get some brine shrimp!

 

Pick up some mysids too, much healthier and maybe cyclop-eeze, and small krill. Brine has pretty much no nutritional value, a little bit if gut loaded. Not too surprising, females are dominant among clowns.

Well mysis next time it is! I got some brine+bloodworm combo. I am soaking it in selcon (havent used that stuff in a while.) They seem to be working their relationship problems out now hah.

I also forgot how muh the fish love actual food vs. flakes. They all came out screaming and eating hah.

 

My male clown is the same way, the female gets all the food, shes fat He will stay at the toadstool dart out when he sees food and darts back while shes all over the place eating everything. I've had them for 2+ years and they have always been that way.

 

My female is exactly like wht ur saying. I have 2 bubble tip anemones and shes in control of both. My male just goes on the outer edge of the bubble tip. Females do get aggresive but my male eats perfect.
