I have had my snowflake eel for 7 days now and he hides unless I'm feeding him.

When will he stick his head half out of the rocks like all the YouTube vids

I agree; you just got him, so give him some time to get used to your tank. He'll come out eventually unless your parameters suck @$$ XD

I used to have a baby snowflake, and I always saw him sticking his head out from the top of my rock mountain when only my moonlight was on. Only problem is that he was stalking my clown when he did do it. :-/

new snowflakes esp little ones are very shy at first but they will warm up and start to come out and even become quite friendly when you come up to the tank. they dont need to be fed everyday they are kind of like snakes so you only need to feed them every few days and with a new one you can fast him for around 4-5 days then try feeding him and you should have more success. they tend to prefer the foods that are higher in fatty acids such as whole fish and prawns/shrimp. for a little one you can even use the frozen uncooked marinara mix from the shops. have fun
