Well, a good news, bad news update. First the bad news, my Coral Angel has succumbed and had to be sent to fishy heaven! :bigcry: One of my favorites, but also, I think, the one that brought this pestilence in the first place. On the good news, nobody else is scratching any more and they seem to be their old happy selves again! :) Now if the can just survive another 30 days! I think I am going to pospone my Fuge for a while and use the 20 as a hospital tank (bare bottom) and that way I can start rebuilding my display tank with new stuff.

Update, it has been 9 days and no more losses. But, a couple of the fish have started scratching again. Seems like just about the right amount of time for a new hatching. I have been keeping the Coppersafe treatment up with the water changes, so I am suprised at seeing more scratching?? Is this normal, do I just wait it out, or should I try a different approch. I have read that a Formalin dip might help?

Thanks to all for a place to ask for help!

Have you been doing daily or every other day water changes while siphoning the bottom of the tank, where the trophonts (or 'eggs') are? That by itself, cured my tang...so that should help. :)

Good idea, I have just been putting the siphon in the tank and drain/replace about 5 gal/day. I have the 20 cleaned up for a hospital tank now and will transfer the fish to that. Maybe I'll even reset the 30 day clock and take my time throughly cleaning the 55.

    Thanks,
    mike
