Noticed my kole tang looked like this this morning.
He's went from a beautiful dark purple with yellow dots, to this in a day.
Anyone know what it is, and if there is any treatment/hope?
I got him out of the main display tank in a 10 gallon quarantine tank.

Man, it seems like brooklynella going around here recently. The only thing i know about it is that it needs to be treated yesterday.

I've had him for 3 or 4 years. I just noticed I don't see my angel fish either. So that's the kole tang sick, with a clown, angel and dotty back gone missing. I added the dotty back and clown Saturday. The clown was doing fine, the dottyback went in the tank and I never saw him again.
So is formalin the only treatment for brooklynella? And, do I need to QT the remaining fish? I have a yellow tang, checkerboard wrasse, chromi and baby clown left.

Unfortunately ,yes it is the only way..It has to be the 37-40% stuff too..The 3% stuff is just water..
The clown is probably the one that had it..Now the whole tank is infected ..QT is the only way to save them ,and it has to be ASAP!

Did you quarantine them before adding?

Nope, never have before. Guess this is why you QT new fish, especially from a new store.

Is it possible to find it locally? There is no time to waste. Maybe others here can suggest where you might find it?

Oh man, how I feel for you. Unfortunately I am one of those who experienced this as well. As all had said before you need to get all fish out and treat them. Leave that display tank fallow for 60 days ( that is what I did). It does sound like your tank is now heavily infested need to act quickly. Healthy fish one minute dead the next minute. That fast

I lost all my live stock to ich. After that I now QT. I learned hard way. I actually just introduced my first QT fish into my display last night. Hope this gives my live stock a better chance to survive.
QT tanks are very simple. Hardest part for me was finding the room. I have a used 30g from a friend. Sponge filter. Heater. Done.
Threw in some PVC elbows to give fish places to hide. Seems to be working. I will take it down until I get more fish.

Like you mentioned especially a new store. Ultimately I can't trust my LFS stores. These fish come from all over the world. Literally plucked from the ocean. Then into distributors tanks/system. Shipped across the world. Then to either another distributor or LFS. If just one fish in any of those systems has a disease then they all have it. To easy for fish to carry
Anyone hope you can cure this. It's an awful feeling being helpless watching fish suffer.
Any QT question hit me up
    Good luck!

Also quick note on QT. While I was treating my fish in QT for ich I let my display tank fallow for around 80 days. I had to let ich life cycle run itself out.
Sorry man. Hope you can get the meds you need.
