This is the porcupine in the tank at my job, they asked me to look at it but I don't know what is wrong with it. For the past 2 weeks I have noticed it getting a hump on it's back and it is acting non interested in food. They have a service that comes out biweekly to care for the tank but they didn't mention anything wrong with the water, but you know how they are. They seem to do the wc and get out. I have never seen them test the water. I don't know why my job hasn't invested in testing equipment. sorry, i kinda rambled here.

The tank is 120 gallons with a spanish hog, regal tang, 2 clowns, porcupine, yellow tang, foxface, and picasso trigger. Anyone know what could be wrong with the puffer? I am going to check on it during the weekend.

Yeah, they feed it frozen krill only. Maybe mysis shrimp. No scallops or anything like that.

Forgot to mention they only have a wet/dry sump with bioballs and no protein skimmer.

I'm used to seeing porcupines with internal parasites and worms. I'm used to seeing swelling as well.....though it tends to be on the belly side and not the back side.

Food dosed with Praziquantel works wonders. (Prazipro is my favorite for fish though I've used dog/cat dewormer too).

I guesstimate that I treat 90% of the puffers that come into the shop. That way it's already done and the customer doesn't have to worry.

I think the instructions say 1 week (but that's going on memory). I have to use it a little differently due to the amount of gallons on my system.
