I just feed the whole tank ZooPlex which I was told would help everything spread a little faster...plus the spiny brain and the candy cane will eat it. I just give a very little bit once a week.

They fine! Zoas get moody, too. What are you feeding them?

+1 to that, it's probably the ammonia.
but like Aqualung said zoo's do get moody and close up sometimes.

also I have found this website handy when trying to figure out things with zoas:

Had quite a few zoas closing one after another in one of my colonies. Some of you remember a while back. I thought it was stung by one of my yellow polyps. They were getting better with time, and then another side was closing.. I looked real close and saw an asterina leg! I pulled him out and dipped the frag. The day before yesterday I found 3 more. They're very inconspicous! Whether they were eating them or just irritating them is beyond me. They also like munching or hanging out on coralline it seems. Thats where I found 3 of them.

Water should be tested "at the tank" for best results. You should get a test kit so you can do it yourself. Also their may be times you want to test the water when the lfs isn't open or you don't feel like going!

had zoas stay closed for 2 days just cause they wanted to it was only part of the colony also. All my water was fine and nothing was bothering them just decied to stay in those days.

Yeah know I remember they did this not to long ago and all came back out of it. I feed them Kent Marine ZooPlex. I have some Yellow zoas that are doing just fine and all my other corals are doing fine as well. Its just half of this little colony being moody while the other half is perfectly fine.
